Farmers Market Tour in NYC

 

On a cool July morning, Chef Melissa Petitto guided Pravassa and our guests through a tour of the 77th St Greenmarket in NYC. We met vendors from the Tri-State area who educated us on their farms, products and why it's best to buy local and pesticide free. Check out those gigantic buckets of Basil, they were only $3 a bushel! Melissa shared her knowledge of in-season produce, created some great take home recipes (see Pravassa's post dinner made from fresh farmers market ingredients) and showed us how to pick the best cantaloupe. We can't wait until Fall to shop with Melissa again.
